The Food Service Equipment Group (FSEG) is a broad-line manufacturer of innovative commercial food service equipment offering a wealth of refrigeration and cooking expertise. Products include walk-in coolers and freezers, refrigerated, non-refrigerated and hot display cabinets and storage systems, commercial ovens, rotisseries and cooking equipment, bakery and deli display cases, hot food counter-top products, rotary vane pumps and stainless steel fabrication, millwork and solid surface stonework.
The FSEG serves three primary market segments: the restaurant industry, food retailers and institutional foodservice accounts. Customers within the restaurant market include quick-serve restaurants, casual dining, full service restaurants and specialty chains, including ice cream stores. Within the food retail market the company serves grocery stores, drug store chains, convenience stores, specialty gourmet stores, and delis and bakeries. The institutional food service/hospitality market includes hospitals, prisons, stadiums, convention centers, hotels, casinos and other meal and food preparation facilities. The FSEG has also begun to apply its technology and product expertise in the health science and environmental chamber markets. Customers in this segment include laboratories, health care institutions and blood banks.
The majority of the FSEG businesses are grouped into two operating groups, Standex Cooking Solutions Group and Standex Refrigerated Solutions Group. The FSEG enjoys market leadership positions and strong brand recognition in the food service industry with each of its eight leadership companies: American Foodservice, APW Wyott, Bakers Pride, BKI, Federal Industries, Kool Star, Master-Bilt, Nor-Lake, Inc. and Procon.
The group employs approximately 1,500 with manufacturing facilities in Ireland, Mexico, Mississippi, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin and Wyoming. In addition to the U.S., FSEG has an established presence in Europe and is developing or expanding distributor relationships in Africa, Asia, Australia and South America.
